Beta is a SERVICE organization that also competes locally, at the state level, and nationally throughout the year. You can be involved as little or as much as you'd like with BETA. This week at HCS!
Houma Christian School’s Meet and Greet will be held on August 5. All parents and students will enter through the gym. At Meet and Greet, students and parents will have an opportunity to pick up high school schedules, visit with their classmates, meet their teachers, see their classrooms, bring school supplies, and set up high school lockers. In addition, the gym will have booths set up such as: schedule changes, athletics, lockers, parking passes, spirit shirt sales, PTC, Beta, nurse station, band, and the Warrior Accommodation Program. PreK and Kindergarten Parent Orientation will be held on August 5 at 1:00 pm. This meeting is for parents only (no students) and should last approximately one hour. At this meeting, parents will enter through the gym and report to the PreK and Kindergarten classrooms. The teachers will present important information about the upcoming school year. After meeting with your child’s teacher, you can visit the gym. The gym will have booths set up such as: spirit shirt sales, PTC, and a nurse station.
Today is the day Warriors! Help us kick off this new school year with a parking lot PEP RALLY! Our cheer, dance, band, & colorguard teams will be performing from 4:30-7pm at the Grand Opening weekend of the NEW Panda Express on MLK! Last week HCS staff members joined our BJU Press representative Seth Redmond for a conference at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Jennifer Breaux, Mandy Rhodes, Wendy Delgado, and Angel Toups joined Christian educators from all around the country for collaboration and learning about the curriculum and biblical worldview focus of our BJU products and textbooks. They were able to meet authors and illustrators and tour the facilities of the press and content areas. It was a wonderful and engaging workshop, and they are excited to bring information and ideas back to share with the faculty of Houma Christian.

Regular office hours from 8:00am to 3:00pm will commence on July 29th.
Reminder: Parents and Grandparents are welcome to attend HCS Elementary Awards Day. The end-of-year awards programs are scheduled for May 23 in the school's sanctuary. Students are required to attend only their respective awards program and may leave after the event. Every student will receive an award. Pk and K had a blast at their inaugural JoyFest yesterday! They enjoyed moving from one activity to another and spending time with their friends. Now, they are all set for summer!
Reminder that Girls Varsity Soccer Tryouts are this Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Lakes (soccer fields off 311). Wear any Navy shirt, dark shorts, and tennis shoes if you don't have cleats. Remember to bring water with you.
