Service Hour Opportunity for Bible Class You can earn up to 1 hour for donating 3 of the following items before Jan. 31 to HCS Missions/Outreach. Items that can be donated for Hope Extreme: Packs of Cookies, Chips, Crackers, Little Debbie Cakes, or any other snack food for their after school tutoring program Items that can be donated for Valentine's Day Baskets for Widows: Nail polish, $5 gift cards to eat or shop, Valentine's Day candy, tissue paper (Valentine's Day colors), lip balm, or any other spa type item

In Mrs. Delgado's 7th grade science class, students dived into the mysterious world of genetics and probability. Armed with coins, they concocted wacky creatures, flipping their coins to decide which parent's genes would rule the day. The result? Some truly crazy genetic makeups!

HCS Parents: Due to the predicted inclement weather tomorrow, Monday, the 8th, Houma Christian will be dismissing early. High school will dismiss at 10:35, and elementary at 11:00. HS siblings can wait in the gym for the 11:00 dismissal. All games and practices have also been canceled. Classes will resume at normal times on Tuesday, the 9th. Thank you!

This week at HCS!

In the latest math lesson, sixth graders sorted M&M's by color and recorded the amount of each color. They used this data, as well as their classmates', to come up with ratios.

Congratulations to our Student of the Month winners! These students were selected for the virtue of "Effort". We are super proud of each of you!

Our monthly PTC meeting will be Tuesday, January 9th at 5:30pm. Please report to the Blended classroom.

Houma Christian School would like to congratulate staff members Mrs. Brittany Vera and Ms. Krista Butts who received their masters degrees from Nicholls State University in December. Mrs. Brittany received her Masters of Education in School Counseling. Ms. Krista received her Masters of Arts in Teaching with a Concentration in Secondary English. Your Warrior Family is so very proud of your accomplishment! Congratulations!

Parents: The Houma Christian School office will close at 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 14th and Friday, December 15th. The school office will reopen on Wednesday, January 3rd, which is also the day that all students will return to class. January 3rd will be an A day. Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

This week at HCS!

Today is the ultimate showcase of fashion faux pas - it's Tacky Sweater Day! Students are cackling at the sight of outrageously tacky sweaters everywhere!

Today, the Blended class went on an exciting field trip to Breaking the Code. Afterward, they all gathered for a delicious lunch at El Paso.

Those bright young minds in the third grade are putting their business skills to the test today! They've got their very own store up and running for their economics project! Our staff got the opportunity to shop till they dropped!

Parents: Midterm exams will be given on Dec. 12-Dec. 15. These are half days for all high school students. 7th & 8th graders will take a test in each class, and 8B will have a Physical Science midterm. If a student is exempt from an exam, they do not have to attend that period. The first exam of each day is from 7:26-9:00, and the second exam is from 9:05-10:35. Friday, Dec. 8 is the review day for B day exams. If your child is exempt from all B day exams, they are excused from attending on Friday. Monday, Dec. 11 is the review day for A day exams. If your child is exempt from all A day exams, they are excused from attending on Monday. Please let us know if you have any questions. Blessings
