Congratulations to these students who were recognized as Outstanding 4-H Members - Melanie Gaiennie, Emeline LeCompte, and Brennan Witt. Jack White also received the Purple Award for his Photography and Portfolio.





The 9th-grade students visited The Suites at Sugar Mill Point today. They sang worship songs, greeted the residents, and handed out gifts they had created for the residents and staff.

4-H members had the chance to participate in Achievement Day on Saturday. Many awards and honors were presented to our members and club during the Awards Ceremony. Our club earned the 5-Star Award for outstanding participation in events and activities. Members present at the awards ceremony included Maddox Bilbo (Outstanding 4-H Member), Marshall Bilbo (Outstanding 4-H Member), Rebecca Theriot (Outstanding 4-H Member), and Jack White (Outstanding 4-H Member and Golden Clover Award). Mrs. Stacom, Mrs. Dusenbery, and Mrs. Dawn were also acknowledged for their efforts as club sponsors.

Our second graders had a blast today playing a contraction game! From “can not” to “can’t” and “do not” to “don’t,” they were contraction champs!



We are thrilled to announce the results of our school-level Battle of the Books! Our talented 6th-grade students showcased their reading skills and teamwork in an exciting competition. Congratulations to The Finding Fishes, who secured first place, and a big round of applause also goes to The Wave Runners, who took home second place. Both teams have earned the opportunity to advance to the parish battle on April 26, where they will compete against other area schools. We are so proud of our students and can’t wait to see how they represent our school in the upcoming competition.

Mark your calendars: Parents and Grandparents are welcome to attend HCS Elementary Awards Day. The end-of-year awards programs are scheduled for May 22 in the school's sanctuary. Students are required to attend only their respective awards program and may leave after the event. Every student will receive an award. Students are expected to dress in their Sunday best, no jeans, t-shirts, or tennis shoes. Please refer to the attached graphic for your child's designated time slot.

4-H members from Assumption, Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, Iberville, and West Baton Rouge showcased their culinary skills at the Area Commodity Cookery in Assumption Parish. The participants from Houma Christian did an amazing job, with all members placing in their respective categories.

This Wednesday, join us in supporting Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society! Wear purple and jeans for just $1 to show your support.
Also, Ms. Bee is selling Luminary Bags for $10. Decorate one in honor of someone battling cancer or in memory of a loved one, then return it to Ms. Bee. These special bags will be displayed around the walking track at the Relay for Life event and lit up when the sun goes down. If you would like to purchase a bag, please bring your money to your homeroom teacher for your order to be placed.
All proceeds go toward cancer research and patient care. Bags must be turned in by April 4th.
